We are hiring a Clinical Manager, Pharmacy, who will oversee and lead the Pharmacy Clinical Program to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective clinical services. Drives practices that promote quality outcomes and medication safety, contributing to the overall success of City of Hope (COH). Responsible for clinical and research initiatives, as well as staff education, to optimize patient outcomes. Ensures the appropriate use of medications while maintaining a secure medication distribution system that complies with all licensing and regulatory standards. Works closely with system-wide clinical pharmacy leaders to standardize and align practices, policies, procedures, formulary, and the electronic health record (EHR) across the COH system.
Specific responsibilities include the oversight and leadership for Pharmacy clinical program development and operations, appropriate drug utilization, staff competency training and development, pertinent safety (CDPH, ISMP, FDA) and accreditation requirements (FACT, ASHP Residency), staff and student training/education; oversight and leadership of clinical initiatives in all disease site programs through affiliations with organizations such as NCCN, HOPA, ASH, ASCO, SWOG, COG to advance the clinical program and ensure that these initiatives meet the safety, quality and financial goals of the organization.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Develop, obtain approval, and achieve clinical program goals; ensure appropriate and cost-effective use of medications; manage clinical and pharmacoeconomic initiatives to plan and remain compliant with regulations and requirements governing safe and effective clinical practice; provide pharmacy oversight of disease site programs.Work with COH Leadership, Nursing Leadership, physicians, pharmacists, and other department managers and key committees across the System to promote safe and effective patient outcomes through advance clinical programs.Responsible for review and approval for treatments that require pharmacy leadership review, such as non-standard chemotherapy requests, high-cost treatment requests.Attract, retain, and develop quality Clinical Pharmacy Staff/ with appropriate feedback and evaluation.Work closely with pharmacy residents to contribute to their training.Contribute to content provision for Committees such as the Formulary, Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T), and Safe Med.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.)3 years in hospital pharmacy with experience in leading or supervisory capacityCurrent CA Pharmacy License ASHP Accredited PGY-1 or PGY-1 and PGY2 Residencies, preferredCity of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
