Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager has overall accountability for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. You will be supervising patient care services staff, ensuring excellent patient safety and quality outcomes as well as extraordinary patient/family experience. Some of your responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, developing and retaining staff with the goal of developing a highly reliable team. You must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to achieve unit and corporate goals. You will assist in the development and monitoring of unit budget, coordinating purchasing and payroll processes, and serve as a clinical resource to team members. You will be leading initiatives such as the Code Blue Committee and the Divisional Critical Care Practice Forum.
We are an 18-bed Intensive Care Unit with an average daily of 16. Our unit earned the Beacon Award. We care for medical and surgical requiring a higher level of care.
In this role you will be responsible for leading and supervising 52.9 FTEs comprised of RNs, Patient Care Technicians, Unit Administrative Assistant, Team Coordinator, Unit Coordinators.

Certification/Licensure
A Virginia or a compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
BLS
ACLS preferred
Experience
Three (3) years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in an acute care setting. Preference is ICU experience.One (1) year of formal management experience. In lieu of this experience, two (2) years of experience in a support leadership RN (Registered Nurse) position.
