Clinical Mental Health Supervisor

PURPOSE:
The Clinical Mental Health Supervisor will lead the implementation of mental health services across Little City’s community-based service settings, which primarily services children, adolescents, teens, and young adults within Little City’s Foster Care and Adoption program as well as other community clients with Medicaid coverage. The Clinical Mental Health Supervisor will directly supervise community-based mental health clinicians, including but not exclusively limited to Therapist Is, Therapist IIs, and Mental Health Practitioners (MHPs). Supervisor will provide mental health clinicians with administrative and clinical supervision, training, coaching and mentoring. Supervisor will be responsible for providing mental health consults, reviewing and approving clinical assessments, and implementing and guiding interventions aligned with client strengths and needs to promote social and emotional well-being.
Supervisor is responsible for adhering to professional and legal requirements and principles, as well as demonstrating sound professional judgement and will ensure staff adhere to all agency policies and procedures and ethical standards. Supervisor will lead by example, while teaching others to use effective mental health interventions based on current, published research.
This position may carry a small caseload of direct-service therapy clients from within Little City’s Community-Based Clinical Services program. The Clinical Mental Health Supervisor’s job is hybrid remote, and time will be split between employee’s home office, clients’ homes, and the Little City administrative offices in Chicago, Matteson, Palatine, or Joliet.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The list of essential duties and responsibilities, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the task to be performed. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein is such duties are a logical assignment to the position.
1. In collaboration with the Director of Community-Based Clinical Services, is responsible for the overall clinical direction and coordination of       mental health services to Little City’s Community-Based Clinical Services clients. This includes but is not limited to the development,             implementation, and evaluation of how clinical services are delivered in the Community-Based Clinical Services program.
2. Directs the workflow of the community-based clinical mental health staff by managing their hiring, training and supervision. Promotes                good interpersonal relations and teamwork among staff.
3. Sets performance expectations and evaluates performance results of staff in a regular systematic manner and reports conclusions and           recommendations to Director and Human Resources.
4. Along with other members of clinical management, facilitates regular team meetings and participates in the Foster Care and Adoption            management team and department meetings.
5. Provides regular documented clinical supervision and trains mental health clinicians on specific clinical and developmental interventions         based on the client’s individualized needs.
6. In conjunction with Director of Community-Based Clinical Services, completes monthly billing for individuals served and ensures team             documentation is aligned with billable services.
7. Assists Director with completion of program budget and with monitoring compliance of program budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and       meeting targets.
8. Fully assesses the individuals on own caseload, including completion of Integrated Assessment & Treatment Plan based on individual             needs and strengths.; monitors progress regularly, and updates plan as needed; maintains client service records to support services              provided.
9. Provides training on mental health and related clinical concepts to Little City staff, families, and community members.
10. Review accuracy and quality of all clinical documentation for the clinical mental health team and signs-off on all clinical documentation          from the team., including but not limited to assessments and treatment plans, utilization reviews, discharge summaries, clinical                       summaries, informed consents to treatment, releases of information and service notes
11. Provide back-up coverage for clinical issues to program staff, including support towards crisis stabilization.
12. Engages in program referral and intake assessment, making determinations on appropriate clients for intake, delivery of services, and            caseload assignment.
13. At least twice a year, assists with Developmental Screening clinics provided by the Community-Based Clinical Services management            team to members of the community.
14. As necessary, participates in relevant client meetings and staffing’s and provides clinical input and advocacy for own clients, clients of            direct reports, or other Little City clients through collaboration and consultation with providers.
15. Assists Director in development, implementation and monitoring of program vision, goal, objectives, strategies and tactics.
16. Assists Director with the completion of outcome reports, demographic reports, and other monitoring tools used for quality assurance               purposes and ensures compliance to corrective action plans.
17. Ensures that all intervention methodologies are evidence-based and reflect the most recent research findings.
18. Participates in relevant committees and task forces as appropriate.
19. Protect the confidentiality of people served by the agency.
20. Other duties as assigned.
21. Successfully completes Little City required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City policies and                       practices, or as assigned by his or her immediate supervisor.
