The Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute of Rutgers University is seeking to hire a clinical neuropsychologist with expertise in multidisciplinary research in the field of environmental and occupational health. The applicant will join a team of scientists that includes psychologists, toxicologists, epidemiologists, exposure scientists, and public health professionals who have developed multiple cohorts of children and adults (pregnant and non-pregnant). Research focuses on characterizing exposures and physical and behavioral health effects in response to a range of environmental and occupational contaminants including pesticides, heavy metals, air pollution, and endocrine disruptors. Other research areas of interest include non-chemical, socioenvironmental traumatic exposures across the lifespan (e.g., child abuse, exposure to violence, victimization, World Trade Center trauma). Research opportunities in New Jersey, nationally, and internationally involve close alliances with local communities to develop approaches that address the complex interaction of poverty, pollutants, socioenvironmental and psychological stress. The Institute welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds who can bring new approaches to address these complex biopsychosocial, environmental influences on health.
