SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\:
Responsible for providing support to clinical staff by providing development expertise as an educator, consultant, and
facilitator. The position works in conjunction with unit leaders to support the development of the hospital clinical staff. This
occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation,
and continuing education. The Clinical Education Coordinator is responsible for supporting clinical staff with initial and
ongoing education.

• Collaborates with hospital leaders to ensure clinical education activities are coordinated, developed, and monitored
as required.
• Assesses student affiliations and/or clinical rotation programs, mandatory training, and education as appropriate.
• Organizes, coordinates, and maintains clinical rotation calendars with affiliated schools.
• Proposes, creates, and conducts training programs as appropriate.
• Produces an education calendar that meets compliance, safety, and organizational training needs.
• Manages hospital education and projects including but not limited to regulatory compliance training, educational
programs, and system priorities (e.g., Preceptor Program, New Graduate Nurse Residency Program, Clinical Skills
Lab, etc.)
• Organizes and facilitates annual educational competencies.
• Evaluates and analyzes course effectiveness and updates curriculum on a continual basis.
• Oversees, maintains, and trains staff on educational software.
• Collaborates with Human Resources for new employee orientation.
• Onboards clinical staff by planning, implementing, and evaluating orientation programs in response to staff learning
needs and organizational goals.
• Creates, prepares, and plans classes based on departmental needs.
• Develops practices and techniques utilized in the field of staff development and training.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS\:
Required\:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
• 3 years of experience as a practicing RN in a healthcare facility.
• Experience and ability to utilize education and adult learning to provide educational opportunities for professional
growth from novice to expert.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement instructional modules and use a variety of educational methods.
• Thorough knowledge of the practices and techniques of staff development, conducting training, assessment of
educational needs and priorities as well as program evaluation.
• Excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all
levels of staff and leadership.
• Strong ability to collaborate and negotiate.
• Ability to engage learners and apply adult learning techniques.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to develop and deliver training and educational programs while optimizing learning activities for employees.
Preferred\:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• 3 years of health care training and education experience.
