Are you living your life's work? Penn Medicine is seeking a full-time **Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE)** to support the **Perioperative Unit** at **Penn Presbyterian Medical Center** . This advanced clinical role combines patient care, education, research, and consultation to promote high-quality, evidence-based nursing practice and enhance staff development. As a key clinical leader, the CNE helps implement practice standards, foster professional growth, and drive initiatives that improve patient outcomes. The role requires strong collaboration across departments and involves guiding the nursing team through regulatory readiness and patient safety initiatives, especially in the perioperative setting. **Key Responsibilities:** **Clinical Leadership & Education** + Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing practice standards + Promote evidence-based care and support continuous learning among staff + Lead education initiatives and serve as a mentor and clinical resource **Evidence-Based Practice & Research** + Integrate current research and clinical guidelines into practice + Participate in quality improvement initiatives and outcomes evaluation + Contribute to interdisciplinary care plans **Patient Safety & Regulatory Readiness** + Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements + Conduct risk assessments and participate in root cause analyses (RCA) + Partner with quality teams to develop and implement safety strategies **Professionalism & Advocacy** + Uphold the ANA Code of Ethics and nursing standards + Encourage staff engagement in professional organizations and continuing education + Act as a liaison and advocate for staff and patients **Collaboration & Communication** + Facilitate interprofessional teamwork and healthy work environments + Use coaching, role-modeling, and conflict resolution strategies + Promote patient- and family-centered care through effective communication **Technology & Informatics** + Leverage EMR and data systems to support clinical decision-making + Evaluate new technologies and educate staff on their use **Continuous Quality Improvement** + Use QI methods to identify and address care delivery challenges + Provide consultation on clinical issues, protocols, and process improvements + Assist in developing cost-effective, outcome-driven care plans **Qualifications:** + **Required:** + Current RN license in Pennsylvania + BSN + BLS certification + Operating Room/perioperative experience + **Preferred:** + MSN or currently enrolled in a graduate program **Why Penn Medicine:** At Penn Medicine, nurses lead with purpose, integrity, and innovation.
