Clinical Nurse Manager - Post Surgery Ortho & Bariatrics

Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a Nurse Manager to lead our 1 East Post Surgery Unit 2 Team.

ABOUT OUR 1 EAST SURGERY UNIT

Our unit is comprised of 24 in-patient private rooms with an average daily census of 22. We are considered a CLEAN unit. Our patient population includes admissions from the ortho/spine unit, as well as, specialized bariatric, gallbladder and medical/surgical patients. 

In this role you will have accountability and responsibility for:

Approximately 35 FTEsDaily operations of clinical areas.Leading professional practices consistent with organization goals of safety, customer satisfaction, and quality.Process improvement.Fiscal budgeting and management.HR responsibilities, developing team members, retention strategies.Participating in committees: Patient Experience, Length of Stay, Surgery Forum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience

One (1) year of formal management experience.Two (2) years of experience in a support leadership RN position, i.e., Unit Coordinator, Team Leader, or other similar position may be accepted in lieu of one (1) years of formal management experience.3 years of Registered Nurse experience.Recent acute care hospital inpatient manager experience strongly preferred in Med Surg, Bariatrics, or Orthopedics. May consider manager experience in other inpatient hospital units.

License / Certification

Virginia or Multi-State Registered Nurse License in good standingBLS
