Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team. The CNS will serve as an advanced practice nurse responsible for providing expert clinical knowledge, leadership, and support to nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes, enhancing nursing practice, and ensuring evidence-based care is delivered across the continuum. This position will support the West Central Region (IU Health Arnett, White and Frankfort). The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, day shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Expertise: Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex patient conditions. Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

Education & Training: Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff, patients, and families. Provide mentorship and guidance to promote professional growth and competence within the nursing team.

Quality Improvement: Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and care outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement evidence-based practices and protocols.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care. Facilitate communication among the care team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to treatment.

Research & Evidence-Based Practice: Lead and participate in research projects and clinical studies. Promote the integration of research findings into clinical practice and policy development.

Patient Advocacy: Champion the needs and preferences of patients and their families. Ensure that care delivered is patient-centered and culturally competent.

Clinical Leadership: Provide leadership in nursing practice, influence policy and procedure development, and contribute to strategic planning within the healthcare organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required. Master in nursing as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) required. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license and meets regulatory requirements to practice as a CNS. Requires 3-5 years of advanced clinical skills typically gained through nursing experience. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
