Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

Functioning as an expert clinical nurse resource assisting team members, physicians, patients, and the community in new or complex interventionsActing as a role model by demonstrating current trends and providing professional development opportunities for team membersIndependently developing, implementing, and evaluating an educational plan to meet the needs of team membersActively participating in the research process and utilizing the information to further enhance patient careFunctioning in the role of the clinical nurse specialist to nursing staff, administrators, physicians, and the communityFacilitating patient teaching and support programs utilizing the nursing process Qualifications Current and valid RN License in the State of New Jersey requiredMSN or Master's Degree in a health-related field requiredActive American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification is required3-5 years of Current pediatric/PICU/NICU ExperiencePALS certification preferredACLS certification preferredClinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification preferred Nurse educator experience strongly preferredNational certification strongly preferred
