The assistant manager of clinical operations combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.  Accountable to partner with unit Manager to develop action plans in areas including quality and safety improvements, care affordability and great patient and team member experiences. Leads the execution of the action plans and analyzes their effectiveness.  Incumbents are members of the interprofessional team and partners with the Manager to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes. The role assists in advancing nursing practice by advocating for and demonstrating evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards.  The role is a member of the leadership team of a unit that is operational and staffed 24 x 7, weekends and holidays.

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.  Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.    Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.    Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
