Job Details The Orthotist is responsible for providing orthotics, within scope of practice, to inpatients and outpatients of Saint Francis and Mercy Hospital. The Orthotist assists in the coordination, maintenance and development of the Orthotics Program. Responsibilities: Determines the appropriateness of orthotics devices and contacts physician to clarify or modify orders when necessary. Provides verbal and written educational material to patients when appropriate. Collaborates with patients primary therapist regarding orthotic device. Recognizes the need for involvement of other disciplines. Recognizes patient discharge needs. Performs and records orthotic assessments, daily clinical notes, re-assessments, and discharge summaries in a timely manner. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Completes department mandatory in-service/training/competency within specified time frame. Participates in education of staff and students within the medical center. Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures Requirements: Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science degree (BS required, Masters preferred) Licensure/Certification: American Board Certification in Orthotics required BLS through American Heart required Skills: To be able to measure, fit and document orthotic needs as per the orders issued by the MD/PA/APP/NP Experience: One to two years’ experience in providing orthotics to patients. Salary Range USD $49.37 - USD $62.40 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
