Clinical Outcomes Specialist - Trauma

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Clinical Outcomes Specialist – Trauma to join the team. This role will be full-time, dayshift. In-Person, M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. – no weekends & no holidays.

Clinical Outcomes Specialist – Trauma Job Responsibilities:

Performance improvement as it relates to trauma care Working with the team to identify patterns and trends, and investigating them Participating in case discussions  Performs extensive medical record review and concurrent chart data abstraction on all regulatory/registry-required clinical indicators for assigned patient groups. Selects and collects appropriate data from patient charts relevant to the core measures set and disease-specific indicators. Delivers timely and comprehensive outcomes reports to QI committees, clinical and administrative executive leaders. Works concurrently and collaboratively with physicians, clinicians, and other individuals involved in the quality improvement initiatives and core measures to ensure standards of quality are met. Participates in educational programs of staff and physicians to increase performance levels in quality improvement initiatives and core measures process. Utilizes principles of therapeutic communication and change theory to enhance continuous quality improvement and implementation of practice initiatives. Assists clinical staff with professional development and in the identification of needed resources to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provides directions and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource and mentor. May perform other duties as assigned

Clinical Outcomes Specialist – Trauma Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: full-time, dayshift. In-Person, M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. – no weekends & no holidays. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN, or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology Experience: 3 years experience in a clinical setting Certification: Registered Nurse License in the Commonwealth of Virginia upon hire; for non-RNs, must be registered in one of the following: RCIS, RCES, RTRCV, or RTRVI upon hire

Clinical Outcomes Specialist – Trauma Preferred Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN Experience: Nursing experience in a trauma setting; EPIC experience Certification/Licensure: RN license in the State of VA
