Job Description

Clinical Pharmacist

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you'll play a central role in optimizing medication therapy, ensuring safe and effective drug use, and contributing to interprofessional patient management across inpatient settings.

Core Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through the verification of medication orders and assessment of patient profiles for optimal therapy and safety

Oversee and support pharmacy technicians and interns in medication preparation and distribution

Utilize clinical knowledge to assess therapeutic regimens, monitor outcomes, and provide recommendations to the care team

Participate in formulary management, clinical protocols, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives

Support quality improvement projects, medication safety processes, and educational programs for pharmacy and medical staff

Contribute to departmental objectives including operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction

Minimum Requirements:

Active Missouri pharmacist license with Medication Therapy Services (MTS) designation in good standing

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program

Successful completion of Medical Staff Credentialing and Privileging

BLS and ACLS certification may be required based on unit; must be obtained within 6 months of hire (if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications:

ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency training

Completion of PGY2 residency in a specialized area or pharmacy fellowship

Board Certification (e.g., BCPS, BCCCP, BCIDP) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)

Previous experience in acute/inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
