Job Overview:
The Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonatal patients. They are responsible for providing all levels of pharmacy clinical services within specialization in their assigned area, including but not limited to the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of both the prescribing and effectiveness of all medications and IV admixtures. They exercise considerable independent decision-making. The Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Pharmacy and the Clinical Coordinator in the coordination and supervision of all clinical pharmacy activities, in addition to the quality improvement and quality assurance activities relating to the provision of pharmaceutical care.

Graduate of an ACPE accredited college of Pharmacy, with PharmDSuccessful completion of a Post Graduate Year 1 Residency - PGY1 requiredNJ Pharmacist licensure in good standingPreferred:
Successful completion of a Post Graduate Year 2 - PGY2 in Critical Care/Emergency MedicineBoard Certification in Critical Care/Emergency MedicineScheduling Requirements:

The Specialist plans, organizes, analyzes, and compiles the facility's medication utilization programs as required and assists in the implementation of cost containment programs and researchFurnish clinical information to physicians, pharmacy personnel, health care practitioners, and patientsParticipates in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, ongoing education, and training related to organization and department specific requirementsProperly complies with all national patient safety goals/risk reduction processes and associated policies and procedures as applicable to medication management and the Pharmacy settingParticipates in medication error and adverse drug reaction reporting programsAssists with orientation and training of new employees, students, nursing and medical staffPromotes positive relations and actively contributes to a positive work environmentPerforms other duties as assignedBenefits and Perks:
