Summary: Works at the direction of the Specialty Pharmacy Manager in performing daily activities to support operational and clinical pharmacy activities. which include but are not limited to: direct patient care, Oral Chemotherapy Program, transitions of care, medication safety, financial clearance, and quality improvement projects as deemed appropriate by Pharmacy Leadership. Serves in both Specialty pharmacy and clinic settings and provides a wide range of medication management and administrative services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the professional staff. Facilitates and implements essential pharmacy processes to ensure the safe, timely and appropriate use of medications throughout the institution. Ensures high standards of care by acting as a liaison between patients, clinics and pharmacy staff to optimize pharmacy services by eliminating communication gaps and decreasing the administrative responsibilities performed by the pharmacists and providers thus permitting more time for direct patient care. The Clinical pharmacy assistant will play a major role in coordinating all prescriptions' needs for their assigned clinics including financial clearance, patient financial assistance programs, prior authorizations, medication dispensing, arranging shipments and deliveries and other duties as assigned by Specialty Pharmacy managers.

Salary range is $54,860 - $66,634 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

Certification Requirement
1. National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
2. Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time Pharmacy Technician experience in a hospital, healthcare organization, chemo-infusion, specialty pharmacy, insurance company or related field.

NOTE:
1. Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
