This position is located at the Naval Hospital Jackonville, FL.
Located in northeast Florida, Naval Air Station Jacksonville is the largest installation in Navy Region Southeast, and occupies more than 3,800 acres along the west bank of the St. Johns River. The installation’s area of responsibility includes three bombing ranges (including the only Navy live-fire range on the East Coast) - Pinecastle, Rodman, and Lake George as well as Outlying Field Whitehouse. The station is home to seven active duty VP squadrons (flying P-8A Poseidon aircraft), three Reserve squadrons, five helicopter squadrons, and one MQ-4C UAS Triton squadron. There are more than 100 aircraft operating full time out of NAS Jax, to include: P-8A Poseidon, P-3C Orion, MH-60R Romeo, C-40 Clipper, C-130T Hercules, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and Flying Club aircraft.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Clinical Psychologist you will:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients who evidence the full range of disorders described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.Conduct psychological assessment of patients with a wide variety of known or suspected psychological disorders that affect intellectual, cognitive, behavioral or emotional functioning.Provide staffing for clinical cases, including in emergency consultation and crisis scenarios.Function as an authoritative source of information regarding the use, selection, and interpretation of psychological tests, and oversee, administer, and interpret appropriate psychological tests.Conduct individual and group short-term therapy sessions, including psychoeducational sessions, using expert knowledge and therapeutic techniques.Review and approve the appropriate modality of each patient; develop treatment plans; evaluate overall effectiveness of therapeutic efforts using both objective and subjective measures, instituting changes as needed.Provide expert oversight of training in diagnosis and treatment to certified and intern counselors in the Department.
Qualifications
US Citizenship required
One year experience as a Clinical Psychologist
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
Candidates will have completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral graduate program and an APA accredited predoctoral internship.
