Clinical Psychologist - SARP
Introduction :    Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for Clinical Psychologists to partner with us in providing temporary contracted medical services to Military Treatment Facilities throughout the United States. Today’s posting will place you at the primary location of the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC). Hospital: NMRTC New England   Location:   United States, NMRTC, New England, Groton, Connecticut    Minimum Qualifications:   + Degree : Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) + Education : Graduate from an American Psychology Association (APA) accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology + Internship/Residency : Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association + Experience : As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions + Possess no less than one (1) year of full-time experience within the last two (2) years working with patient population with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder + Licensure : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Core Duties: Contractor personnel shall perform a full range of duties consistent with their labor category, education, training, experience, clinical privileges (as applicable), and assigned position. General duties that apply to all personnel or across certain labor categories are given below.   + Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services + Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities as requested by the Government + Practice aseptic techniques as necessary. Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection + Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures + Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions. Notify supervisor, director, or other designated government person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage + Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner + Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting + Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF + Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice + Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth. Basic Life Support (BLS) and other trainings in support of professional licensure or credentials may not be obtained at the MTF by a HCW during working hours + Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command, to include but not limited to online annual training provided by the MTF: disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required training + Actively participate in the command’s Performance Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist + Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide training and/or clinical direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.) + Attend and participate in various meetings as directed + Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care + Operate and manipulate automated systems such as electronic health record, ADS, Essentris, Clinical Information System (CIS) and various other databases, participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Maintain DOD email account as directed. The HCW shall be responsive to all email and voicemail communications + Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the clinical direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities + Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions Additional Duties : Assigned to the Medical Readiness Clinic. The HCW shall provide services within the scope of their competencies and clinical privileges as granted by the Commanding Officer, and the applicable duties provided in the basic contract, and the following:   + Coordinate with MTF assigned personnel to schedule initial and follow-on appointments or referrals for service members before they leave the center or the screening at the Line unit + Perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association + Contribute to organizational quality assurance goals to include technical peer review; and as required and appropriate, provide technical guidance to fellow healthcare providers Hours of Performance : The performance (duty) hours of the MTF are as follows: Duty hours will vary by position and location; however, typical duty hours are scheduled between 0700 -1700, Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change and may include nights and weekends. In the event the HCW is required to work beyond their scheduled duty hours for any reason, the duty hours will be adjusted within the current pay period; the HCWs shall not work more than 40 hours per week. The performance (duty) hours of the MTFs are as follows: 10 MDG, United States Air Force Academy Monday through Friday, 0730-1630. 460 MDG, Buckley Space Force Base, Monday through Friday, 0730-1630.
