Clinical Quality Improvement Manager RN or LPN

Our Maintenance Team at Seal Rock supports our entire Atlantic Heights Community which includes The Inn, an 80 apartment assisted living and The Cottages, 45 independent living cottages. Job Summary Primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, clinical oversight, consultation, direction, monitoring and training for nursing and nursing related operations in the building. Quality oversight in the areas of clinical management of patients/residents, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations, quality improvement and outcomes, and policy and procedure implementation. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the Quality Manager assists in the planning, organizing, developing, and directing day to day functions of the Nursing Department, in accordance with current federal and state regulations Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to: + Monitors clinical care and documentation practices to ensure they align with Nursing Standards of Practice and regulatory expectations + Collaborate with Infection Control Preventionist in the development and implementation of immunization programs for resident/patients and staff + Performs clinical rounds on nursing units daily assessing for gaps in meeting customer relations expectations, clinical care expectations and/or documentation expectations. + Provide training and coaching to clinical staff in the arenas of clinical practice, regulator compliance, standards for clinical documentation, and compliance with organization care procedures and protocols. + Actively participate and assist DON in oversight of the facility’s quality improvement process. + Promote, establish, and maintain customer relationships with resident/ patient(s), families, staff, community and other professionals; + Identify and access available resources to assist in development of and implementation of ongoing education appropriate for each level of nursing staff + Implement policies and procedures related to clinical practice, regulatory compliance and documentation integrity in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Nursing Home Administrator. + Provide support with staff competence with electronic charting system. + Make written and verbal reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing as necessary concerning the operation of the nursing department. + Participate in state and federal surveys with authorized government agencies as requested or directed by the Administrator or Director of Nursing. + Assist and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies. + Ensure assessments, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting is completed according to regulation, standards of practice, and policy. + Participate in nursing on-call rotation + Conduct and assist RAI Coordinator with the development and completion of the resident assessments. Including but not limited to: Completion of MDS & associated CAAs, input MDS into computer system timely, ensure that residents are coded accurately, capturing all their needs and levels of assistance, in accordance with current rules, regulation, and guidelines. Skills and abilities + Effectively prioritize and manage assigned tasks and responsibilities. + Lead by example, identify and address challenges proactively. + Must have ability/competency, and willingness to work as a direct care provider when necessary. + Cope with demands of the position and effectively communicate policies, procedures, regulations, and reports to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies as needed. + Function independently, as well as a member of multiple teams, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, employees, regulators, the public, and support agencies. + Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the nursing community. Requirements: + Currently a Registered Nurse or Licenses Practical Nurse /licensed in Maine. + CPR certification must remain current during employment.
