Clinical Research Assistant

Summary:

Research Assistant to assist in the InVita Lab with a clinical research study. The aim of the proposed research is to test a model of providing treatment to Latin/Hispanic youth who experience suicidal thoughts and behavior and their caregivers. An affirmative and culturally relevant treatment will be provided to all youth and half of the families will be assigned to the additional support of a community health worker (CHW). Youth symptoms and family engagement to treatment will be followed for nine months. The potential benefit of adding the CHW intervention will be assessed. Due to the demographics of the patients and families we serve in the Mi Gente Program Spanish language proficiency is required. 

Responsibilities:

� Interview participants and families to gather information and obtain informed consent; maintenance of study records and tracking of study participants.

� Carry on research assessments including interviews on suicide risk and depression.

� Data entry reporting and assistance with maintenance of database.

� Provide assistance with recruitment efforts.

� There are opportunities to participate in data analysis submit poster presentations to conferences and assist in preparation of manuscripts.

Other information:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

� Bachelor�s degree in psychology behavioral sciences or related field.

� Bilingual (Spanish & English)

� Minimum 1-2 years of research experience (preferably in a clinical research setting) with ethnic minoritized groups and/or the LGBTQ+ community.

� Courses in research methodologies statistics and multicultural perspective preferred.

� Experience with computer-based data entry and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)

� Excellent organizational skills

� Occasional evening and weekend work required for visits at participants home for follow up assessments.
