This Clinical Research Assistant I will be responsible for: + Under general supervision, coordinating activities of daily operations of clinical research studies in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine. + Screening, consenting, recruitment of study participants (both via telephone and in person). + Data collection in the operating rooms, intensive care units, and other procedural areas throughout the hospital. + Performing data entry, quality control, and other administrative tasks (such as scheduling study visits, completing case report forms, labeling and filing study documents, and maintaining study inventory). + Preparing IRB and/or CCI documentation and submissions in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and/or other members of the research team. + Potential to be involved in the writing of articles and summary papers for various publications. To qualify, you must have: + The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in a related science. + Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in which the information or problems are moderately complex to complex. + Well-developed communication skills in order to provide critical information to patients, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions.
