Clinical Research Assistant - Neuropsychiatric Research Fund

Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services. _*Job Summary*_ We seek an excellent and motivated post-baccalaureate clinical research assistant (CRA) to join ongoing projects that include functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), event-related potentials (ERPs), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), autism spectrul disorder (ASD), and substance use disorders (SUD). The new hire will be integrated into the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center in Hartford, CT and trained to conduct research on both psychiatric populations and community controls. This position enhance collaborations between two labs: The Autism & Functional Mapping Laboratory, directed by Dr. Michal Assaf, and the Steele Lab, directed by Dr. Vaughn Steele. You will contribute to two ongoing projects. One focusses on fMRI and TMS in an ASD sample and the other focusses on fMRI and TMS in a SUD sample; both also recruit community controls for comparison. CRAs will work closely with the PIs and other CRAs and are expected to help recruit, screen, and run community members with and without clinical diagnoses. A two-year minimum commitment is required. A great attitude, excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team, take initiative, and lead are highly desired. Opportunities to present at conferences and to write papers are available (commensurate with skills and experience). In-depth training and personalized mentoring will be provided on an ongoing basis. This position will likely be enjoyable, challenging, and educational as it will serve as an ideal springboard for graduate school in psychology, medicine or neuroscience. *_Start date:_* By March 1st2025 is preferred (will consider later dates for the right candidate). *Required Qualifications:*BA or BS in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, or related field (strong applications from candidates with other backgrounds will be considered); Research experience in a related area is desirable; Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills; Strong attention to detail as well as ability to work independently and in a team. *Preferred Qualifications: *Psychological/human research experience in an addiction/ASD/clinical/cog-neuro lab; strong computing skills including programming experience (MATLAB, Python, or others), and experience analyzing data are an advantage. Neuroimaging analysis experience and statistics experience are a big plus.
