Job Description
A Laboratory Manager supervises personnel and operations in a laboratory environment. This person will oversee all laboratory requirements and processes to ensure all regulatory standards and sponsor requirements are met to provide the highest quality clinical trial services possible.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate laboratory trial functions from trial assignment with trial management, regulatory, data management, and investigator to ensure trial success.Create laboratory-specific source documentation at trial assignment for research staff to ensure protocol requirements are met.Educate and train all research staff on specific lab processing and procedures for all trials on an ongoing basis to ensure comprehension and competence in performing lab activities.Manage and train a laboratory research assistant on an ongoing basis to maintain quality lab processing and provide another resource for lab questions in the lab manager’s absence.Oversee and/or direct purchasing of laboratory and clinical supplies as needed to ensure no trial is delayed due to a lack of supplies.Implement and/or comply with CQI processes related to laboratory functions and other research projects throughout all trial conduction to confirm accuracy of data and take appropriate corrective action.Manage all communications related to laboratory information to appropriate sponsors, suppliers, investigators, study coordinators, and research staff to ensure good communication between all parties.Essential SkillsMinimum of two years clinical research experience, with Phase 1 highly preferred.Minimum of two years leadership and/or management experience.Comprehensive understanding of laboratory processing and procedures.Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, IATA, bloodborne pathogens, and infection control.Basic computer skills, including Excel experience.Lab equipment and quality control experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in setting up protocols.Experience in quality control and lab management operations.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
