NPS or AE-C within 1 year of hire. BLS, NRP, and PALS instructor within one year of hire.
Physical Requirements This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; intermittently standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally working at heights above four feet and/or in confined spaces. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people. Shift Typically three 12.5-hour shifts per week (7:00 pm. – 7:30 am.) Will also be required to work weekends and holidays. 4 hours allowed for remote or alternate hour work per week. Some flexibility required to meet department needs. Job Summary The Clinical Respiratory Therapy Expert (CRTE) for Pediatrics supports the respiratory therapy manager-pediatrics and the respiratory education coordinator in the onboarding, competency assessment, and professional development needs of therapists and multidisciplinary stakeholders who work with pediatric patients in all areas of UK HealthCare. The CRTE for pediatrics supports academic partnerships as a clinical instructor for students. The CRTE is a clinical leader within pediatric respiratory services, providing direct patient care, and at the elbow support across disciplines. The CRTE also provides operational shift support as a “relief lead” as assigned. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Registered Respiratory Therapist, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) at hire. NPS or AE-C within 1 year of hire. BLS and NRP or PALS instructor within one year of hire. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
