POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Risk Manager provides clinical risk leadership, expertise, and service to facilitate the management of the overall operation, tactics and strategy of clinical risk management and patient safety.  This position has the responsibility to oversee and coordinate the review of reported risk events. Manages ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall safety, efficiency and effectiveness of clinical risk and patient safety management services and functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in health-related field required, nursing preferred. Master’s degree preferred.

Required length of experience: Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience. Minimum of one year experience in patient safety, risk management, quality improvement. Strong written and oral communication skills.  Computer literacy.  Presentation and research skills.  Ability to influence change without direct authority.

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
An unencumbered license for a health professional and one of the following:

Certified Professional Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred Certified Professional Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred Certified Professional Health Care Quality (CPHQ) preferred
