The Clinical Services Coordinator I provides competent and thorough administrative support in the Inpatient Neurobehavioral Unit setting and works effectively with other therapeutic disciplines to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of service to inpatients and their families.

Responsibilities Provides customer service to patients, families, and staff while maintaining a welcoming and friendly attitude.Communicates relevant information (such as changes, admissions, discharges, etc.) to all relevant departments and involved clinicians in a clear and timely manner.Receives information from direct care staff and members of the interdisciplinary team and accurately relays received information to relevant parties.Conducts routine checks of the unit to ensure cleanliness and safety in accordance with institute and department standards.Performs all admission and discharge clerical procedures, including receiving and verifying new patient ID bracelets, ensuring correct name plates are affixed to patients’ rooms, assembling and maintaining current and accurate patient charts, and requesting records from Health Information Management DepartmentSchedules and confirms all patient appointments and completes all appropriate forms. Schedules follow-up appointments ordered within the month after discharge.Conducts monitoring checks on protective equipment, maintains database, summarizes overall status, and assists with ordering supplies.Maintains a neat and orderly workstation.Performs all patient chart filing, culling excess material as needed and maintaining correct and neat organization of charts.Triages incoming calls, receives messages from staff, distributes mail, and transmits accurate and timely information to the appropriate staff.Operates and manages all communication technology used on the unit as needed, including the call system.Maintains general office equipment, maintains adequate and appropriate supplies, and stocks department supplies as needed. EDUCATION:

 

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum two years of administrative support, clerical, or secretarial experience required, preferably in a medical setting. Benefits
