Position: Clinical Services Manager
Position Summary: Reporting to a Director responsible for a group of Clinical Services for the hospital site and with/through subordinate personnel, assumes management responsibility for a single major (or multiple smaller) function(s), service(s) or process(es) that provides support to clinical operations. Provides 24-hour accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services for one or more clinical areas and staff performance. Requires a high level of independent judgment and substantial latitude for independent action. Direct reports may include Clinical Leaders, Coordinators and/or high-level professional/administrative exempt and Nursing supervisory personnel.
What the Clinical Services Manager will need:
For Nursing Areas - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). For other clinical areas - Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a clinical discipline appropriate to the clinical area.Preferred: For Nursing Units - Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or plan to complete Master’s degree strongly preferred. For other clinical services - Master’s degree in a clinical discipline, business or health care administration.For Nursing Area: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan; For other Clinical Services: Registration or Certification in applicable clinical professionMinimum of three years clinical experience in an acute care setting with progressively more responsible leadership experience.Preferred: Two years prior supervisory or manager experience and five years of clinical experience in similar areasWhat the Clinical Services Manager will do:
Initiates, facilitates, and supports communication among a variety of health care providers and with various external agencies.Specifically, the position identifies the need for policy development and/or revision, defines policies in collaboration with higher-level management input, goals and objectives.Identifies the need for and drafts or defines procedures/protocols in collaboration with higher management input, goals and objectives; modifies procedures/protocols, as necessary.Monitors the quality and quantity of workflow to ensure work is completed.Initiates or recommends personnel actions such as hires, fires and disciplines.Completes performance appraisals.Develops daily, monthly and/or yearly goals and measures and assists in developing and monitoring budget for single or multiple, closely-related fields, areas or processes and, as requested, assists in assessment of goal attainmentOur Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
