Job DescriptionSocial Worker I (NYC)
Join us at MSK! We are seeking to hire a Clinical Social Worker I for our inpatient BMT/CTS inpatient service at the MSK main campus in NYC to help lead staff and to deliver comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and follow-up to adult and pediatric patients and families in response to social, psychological, and environmental needs related to the impact of diagnosis, admission, treatment, discharge, continued care and post-treatment.
Role Overview:
Conduct screening and bio-psychosocial assessment of patients and families to assess their distress & develop ongoing clinical plans.Provide clinical interventions and modification of the psychosocial plan, ongoing clinical assessments, advocacy, and assistance with resources for patients and their families.Collaborate with an interprofessional team to address ongoing patient needs.Assist patients/families in accessing appropriate psychosocial services along the continuum of care.Identify the unique needs of assigned service; develop and implement appropriate interventions and programs.Produce quality documentation in the medical record and all written correspondence; and prepare Philanthropic Budget Sheets and other departmental-related documentation.Focus on professional development through supervision of student interns; participating in team consultation, teaching and research, presentations at national conferences, and contributions to the social work/oncology literature.Participate and serve on department-wide committees.Work with Supervisor, Practice Group Leader and/or Director of Social Work on special projects as assigned.Key Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Social Work and NY-LMSW are both required.At least 1 year of post-master’s work experience in a hospital.Core Skills:
Strong clinical skills with individuals, families, and groups are essential.Experience in oncology and/or palliative care in a hospital setting.Knowledge of supervisory skills and staff management is helpful.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Additional Information:
Location: Main Campus in NYC.Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pmReporting to the Manager, Social WorkPay Range: $73,900 - $114,400/annually
