Clinical Specialty Coordinator

This position is at Methodist Hospital a Level One Trauma Center which offers the latest advances in leading-edge care, as a specialty coordinator over our peripheral vascular service line with IU Health you will have a uniquely exciting setting to apply your skills. This position will work Monday-Friday, Full Time on our day shift as well as take on call hours. The Clinical Specialty Coordinator will coordinate a service line of care for a similar patient population of high acuity patients of all ages within their department. Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. Serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit leadership activities as necessary to support the specific service line. Applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and is required to scrub and/or circulate. Responsible for developing a core curriculum, in conjunction with the clinical educator and system education, for the service line and oversees orientation of new staff and on-going staff education and evaluation of these programs within the service line. Acts as a role model, resource person, and member of the leadership team as well as keeping the organization Inc. Mission and Vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities. Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required. Masters of Nursing preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
