Clinical Staff Pharmacist (FT Nights) - Seacoast

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Schedule is 7 on and 7 off - Night Shift

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values 

Exhibits and conveys the message of the Service Excellence Standards, Value of Caring, Value of the Person, Value of Quality, and the Value of Integrity in every interaction. 

Accurately interprets and enters medication orders in the computer for drug administration. 

Ensures that medications are dispensed and delivered promptly. 

Correctly checks medications including IVs before dispensing from the pharmacy. 

Knows and follows pharmacy policies and procedures and medication policies and procedures located online in the patient care manual.   

Contacts the provider in a timely manner when there is a concern about a medication order related to a drug interaction, allergy, drug disease state interaction, issue with med reconciliation or other CPOE orders, and other circumstances as indicated. 

Knows and follows state and federal laws regarding dispensing of medications. 

Knows and follows regulatory standards and policies related to all governing bodies .  

Clinical Staff Pharmacists works as a team member with a positive attitude when interacting with other department employees including pharmacy students and residents in addition to other hospital personnel. 

Should be knowledgeable in medications and exhibit the clinical and professional skills to positively interact with physician, nurse, and other health care practitioners in hospital formulary issues, in-services, rounds, etc.  

Handles and resolves customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty. 

 

Qualifications/Training: 

Ability to work independently 

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: 

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school 

Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state of South Carolina
