Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides comprehensive clinical services to clients in a residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment setting. This role includes conducting assessments, facilitating individual and group therapy, developing treatment plans, and supporting client recovery through evidence-based practices. The position will demonstrate leadership through clinical guidance and mentorship and will provide clinical supervision hours to unlicensed staff as permitted under licensure regulations. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Review assessments and reassessments in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
+ Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using trauma-informed, culturally competent, and evidence-based modalities.
+ Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies and state/federal guidelines (e.g., Medi-Cal, DHCS).
+ Collaborate with case managers, counselors, medical staff, and other team members to support integrated care.
+ Responsible for taking emergency calls related to client mental health crises outside of regular business hours.
+ Provide supervision hours to associate-level clinicians and registered interns in compliance with licensing board requirements.

+ Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case consultations and treatment planning discussions.
+ Assist in quality improvement initiatives and audits as needed.
+ Support a positive recovery environment and model professional boundaries and behavior for staff and clients.
+ Participate in staff training, onboarding, and mentoring of less experienced team members.
+ Stay informed about current best practices in substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment.
+ Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
+ Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience and Competencies:
+ Must possess knowledge of chemical dependency, substance abuse and personality dynamics of the substance abuser.
+ Must possess knowledge of de-escalation techniques.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
+ Ability to work well in a team environment.
+ Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.
+ Professional appearance and demeanor.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
+ Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS.
+ A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain Fresno County Credentialing; and
+ CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.
+ As mandated by the State of California those employees who work at Residential, Outpatient, Sober Living, provide Mental Health Services, or Transitional Living Facilities must be fully vaccinated by September 30, 2021. Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly.
+ During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
+ 3–5 years of clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment, including residential settings.
+ Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of evidence-based practices for substance abuse treatment, co-occurring disorders, and trauma-informed care.
+ Must possess a master’s degree in a discipline leading to licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
+ Must be licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor for at least two (2) years.
+ Clinical supervisory certification or eligibility to obtain supervisory certification is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Work is primarily performed in residential setting.
