CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Mountain View Hospital is looking for an Clinical Supervisor to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY: The Teton Cancer Institute Clinical Supervisor is a role developed to work in coordination with management to ensure the work is accomplished effectively. The Clinical Supervisor is generally a long-term role, requiring clinical and interpersonal skills. The Clinical Supervisor collaborates with the manager on clinical and non-clinical issue (employee relations, individual behaviors, physician relationships, etc.). The Clinical Supervisor is the support for the unit when the manager is unavailable. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for coaching and mentoring unit staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Supervisor:
1. Plan and coordinate clinical requirements for staff and ensure that all department requirements for staff are current.

2. Coordinate clinical requirements with staff regarding equipment and supplies.

3. Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Educator for education opportunities and needs.

4. Consult with preceptors and orientees on a regular basis to provide support and determine how orientation should proceed on an individual basis.

5. Collaborate with the manager for issue resolutions and projects to improve work flow and unit Performance Improvement Projects utilizing a proactive approach.

6. Collaborate with different department entities within TCI (chemo mixing, lab, clerical, and nursing) to resolve issues and improve work flow processes throughout the department.

7. Mentor/coach staff to enhance their professional development.

8. Collaborates with clinical leads and managers in disciplinary actions.

9. Understand and communicate potential clinical equipment or supply issues to appropriate team members (Maintenance, Biomed, Purchasing, etc.)

10. Provides immediate support and education on policy, procedures, equipment and supplies.

11. Demonstrates awareness of current problems and basic plan for all patients within assigned area.

12. Gives assistance to staff to facilitate quality patient flow.

13. Oversees all clinics and their clinical systems and processes. Visits each clinic site as needed to assess needs of staff and providers.

14. Promotes an atmosphere of open communication that facilitates staff input into decision-making, resolution of conflict, and collegiality among all health team members.

15. Assists Manager with staff performance audits related to attitude, team performance, and CMS and State regulatory and facility standards.

16. Assists Manager to Develop and review Clinical Policies and Procedures.

17. Reviews and investigates occurrence reports and documents findings for Manager’s review.

18. Facilitates and encourages staff participation in departmental meetings.

19. Attends departmental and hospital committee meetings as assigned.

20. Coordinates, facilitates, participates and directs departmental projects with follow-through and appropriate follow-up.

21. Other projects and duties as directed by the clinic manager.

22. Follows up on employee sick calls to be sure leads have done sick day forms for MVH infection control requirements.

23. Assists manager with PTO requests of clinical team to insure adequate coverage.

24. Helps with coverage of building security and medication refrigerator alarms during absence of manager or on a rotating basis with other staff.
