The START (Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment) model serves people diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This comprehensive model of service supports and optimizes independence, treatment, and community living for individuals with I/DD and behavioral health needs.

YAI is seeking a Clinical Team Leader to work with our START program located in New York, NY.  The Clinical Team Lead will be responsible for providing direct supervision to a team of Coordinators and working collaboratively on building and developing an effective START PLAN for the people being supported in the Manhattan region.   

Other primary responsibilities may include:

Provide administrative supervision to START Coordinators and daily clinical triage supportMaintain linkages and relationships with community partnersEnsure the coordination of support meetings and crisis plans for individuals served through STARTShare on-call responsibilities to ensure 24/7 response to crisis situations within one hour of call telephonically and within 24 hours of call face-to-faceParticipate in recurring meetings with START leadership, clinical team, and Resource CenterDevelopment of cross-systems crisis plans, intake/assessments, intervention and outcomes and any other applicable documentation of services providedMaintain a small, active caseload (about 5 cases) until START Coordinator Certification is achievedFollowing certification, team leader caseload should be fluid and temporary to provide opportunity to support START Coordinators when needed

Qualifications:

MA in Mental Health, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or other Human Service fieldAt least 2 yrs experience working with individuals with I/DD and mental health and/or challenging behavior needs preferredOne year supervisory experience strongly encouragedPrior experience as a START Coordinator preferred or the ability to become certified within 12 monthsBilingual Spanish a plus

Compensation:

$65,000.00 annually
