CLINICAL TEAM SPECIALIST/RN

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Clinical Team Specialist/RN to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains open communication with all staff to promote improvement in performance. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities. Clinical Team Specialist works collaboratively with the department manager, clinical team leads, the VP of Surgical Services and all of the compliance team to support in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating staff, department, and educational activities for all surgical staff; specifically focusing on nursing and clinical aspects. This includes assisting with monitoring for general, clinical, and nursing orientation, professional development including inservices and continuing education. Assisting with department process improvement projects/programs. Overseeing competency programs including the mentoring program as directed by the Mountain View organization. The roles of the Clinical Team Specialist include: educator, facilitator, change agent, collaborator, advisor, mentor, consultant, researcher, and leader. The Clinical Team Specialist RN collaborates with the manager on clinical and non-clinical issues (employee relations, individual behaviors, physician relationships, etc.) and is the support for the department when the manager is unavailable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include all of those required of the Operating Room Circulating RN.


1. Promotes the department and its services into the organization’s primary mission, including any developments and changes to the department.
2. Coordinates and integrates services within the department and with other departments.
3. Demonstrates professional and leadership qualities including but not limited to:
a. Demonstrates effective proactive situational leadership while working within the framework of Mountain View’s mission, vision, and values by actively supporting new programs and changes in the organization
b. Demonstrates an ability to identify and resolve problems. Uses initiative and good judgement to reach quality decisions.
c. Communicates in an effective professional manner.
d. Promotes confidentiality and uses complete discretion when discussing information.
e. Fosters effective collegial relationships with educators, charge nurses & mentors as well as staff.
f. Maintains an effective rapport with patients, visitors, physicians, managers and directors.

4. Assists with the coordination of staffing coverage & completion of daily assignment sheet. Maintains online department on call calendar/schedule.
5. Covers in department for scheduled vacation times or sick days as needed or assigned by Manager.
6. Assist with the maintenance and tracking of equipment, recall notifications, reports malfunctions, monitors for repairs and replacements, and maintenance work orders as needed.
7. Monitor clinical staff requirements and ensure that all staff are compliant in employment requirements, licensure and education.
8. Participates in department staff and team lead meetings, provides written minutes of each meeting.
9. Mentor staff to promote professional development.
