POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Support Specialist would serve as the point-of-contact for tele-consultation activities. Responsible to schedule and coordinate consultations, set up and test equipment, and support physicians and other providers during consultation as requested. Responsible to maintain all tele-medicine hardware/software in good working order, coordinating any technical issues with IT or vendor to resolve timely. Responsible for onboarding new providers to the ECHN IT systems as well as ECHN employees to any vendor-required IT systems.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Diploma or certificate from an accredited LPN program Must hold current and valid LPN License Updated CPR High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in a clinical setting with technicians, nurses and physicians.
COMPETENCIES:
Computer skills and an ability to learn and understand the general technical requirements for the telemedicine system. With training, ability to provide basic technical support and to triage more difficult problems to appropriate staff. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff. Ability to positively represent telemedicine to patients and families. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent patient experience skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, use independent and mature judgment, and work independently with minimal supervision
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates telemedicine consultations (i.e. infectious disease, neurology). Prepares patient and patient room for consultation, retrieving telemedicine cart for use and ensuring connection is made with tele-medicine provider. Assists tele-medicine provider during course of the consultation as requested Provide patient with information or educational materials as directed by nurse or provider. Continually monitors tele-carts to ensure they are on-line, and works with IT to resolve connectivity issues in a timely manner. Responsible for submitting apprpropriate access requests to IT for providers into the ECHN IT systems, and also obtains ECHN employees’ access to any required vendor IT systems for tele-medicine services. Validate and code incoming invoices from tele-medicine provider. Address tele-medicine related workflow issues with leadership to develop plan for resolution and staff education, if necessary. Comply with HIPAA standards Perform other tasks as assigned
