Clinical/Translational Scientist (Oncology)

Biotheranostics, a Hologic company, is seeking a talented and results-driven clinical or translational scientist to join our team in San Diego, CA. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated person to support the clinical development program in Oncology Diagnostics. We are seeking a well-trained scientist/clinician who is driven by science and the desire to improve the lives of cancer patients.

Primary Responsibilities:

Execute clinical strategy to validate and establish the clinical utility of biomarkers and molecular diagnostic tests in oncology Identify and lead the development of new clinical study proposals and protocols; recruit investigators, and work with legal to execute study agreements  Manage clinical studies and serve as primary liaison with external collaborators, clinical investigators and medical experts to ensure protocol execution and study conduct that is consistent with research objectives and endpoints Participate on cross-functional teams to provide scientific support and functional representation Write clinical study reports; provide scientific/medical input and contribute to the writing and review of scientific and regulatory submissions Prepare and present clinical data to internal and external stakeholders  Partner with Medical Affairs to support execution of publication strategy Contribute to study budgets and forecasts as well as Standard Operating Procedures

Qualifications:

Proven track record of scientific productivity (publications, patents) Understanding of oncology required Record of clinical research in the development and validation of biomarkers, ideally in oncology Familiarity with genomic approaches in diagnostic applications and biomarker discovery a plus Demonstrated technical and project management capabilities are required, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills in a collaborative work environment Highly adaptable to functioning in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated and passion for medical innovation and commitment to scientific rigor

Education:

M.S. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field M.D. or Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field

Experience:

M.S. with at least 6 years of industry experience, ideally in Oncology Ph.D. or M.D. with at least 3 years of industry experience, ideally in Oncology 

The annualized base salary range for this role is $108,700 to $170,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand.
