JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Coordinator accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for the management and provision of care given to patients by self or others who are under their supervision and in accordance with UVA Health’s policies and procedures and scope of practice. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health.
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for program specific operations of the practice for the provision of effective patient care. This includes cost control, personnel management, quality improvement, direct and indirect patient care. The Clinical Coordinator supports the Clinic Administrator in accomplishing program goals and outcomes. In addition, the Clinical Coordinator oversees patient care processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality of care. Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
This position requires providing services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a specialized practice required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Licensure: Applicable state RN license required.
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: AHA Healthcare BLS required.
Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocol.
