Clinical Veterinarian – DLAM

Description The Clinical Veterinarian independently performs a full range of veterinary duties, including the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of laboratory animals. While routine cases are managed autonomously, complex or challenging cases may require consultation with senior veterinary staff. This position ensures adherence to approved animal use protocols and provides expert guidance to UCLA’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing anesthesia and surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care. Advising and training research personnel on the selection and administration of anesthetics, analgesics, sedatives, tranquilizers, and other medications. Educating research staff on aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, post-operative care, animal handling, and husbandry practices. Responding to routine and emergency veterinary care requests, including participation in an on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays.This position plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of animal care and welfare while supporting the advancement of scientific research at UCLA.
Annual Salary Range: $92,600.00 – 202,200.00
