Job Summary:
This position will support Gándara’s Westfield Family Resource Center, which aims to provide community-based, culturally competent programs, including evidence-based parent-education programs, youth and parent support groups, Early Childhood services, information and referral, educational support, cultural events, and other opportunities for families whose child/ren range in age from birth to 18 years.
The Westfield Family Resource Center Clinician is a clinical specialist, responsible for providing trauma-informed intakes as well as conducting the intake, screening, and assessment functions for family members experiencing Child Requiring Assistance (CRA)-related issues. The Clinician oversees the development of the Family Support Plan and provides ongoing supervision and case management oversight to the Family Partner. In addition, the Clinician shall provide clinical support to other Family Resource Center (FRC) staff and may also facilitate FRC parenting group sessions. The Clinician may work with all family members who are involved with the FRC; however, family members experiencing CRA-related issues are prioritized for services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer screening intakes and clinical assessments utilizing the Massachusetts Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessment as well as other identified supplemental behavioral needs assessments for family members experiencing CRA-related issues; Act as a team with the Family Partner to support family members experiencing CRA-related issues such as arranging referrals, service/support planning, and follow-up; Develop Family Support Plans in conjunction with Family Partner, with willing families based on needs identified from intake, screening, and assessment; ensure the Family Support Plan includes activities aimed at generating positive outcomes related to physical and behavioral health, safety, learning and skill development, civic engagement and relationships; Collaborate and provide outreach to local community-based network of service providers including, but not limited to, any community, municipal, state, federal, non-profit, for-profit, or private sector individual/organization that provides services/opportunities for children and families on the best course of treatment for youth and their families and make referrals accordingly; Facilitate family, youth and group counseling as well as psycho-educational groups for program participants and their families; provide consultation i.e., supporting family members who have experienced trauma, to other FRC staff; Maintain confidential clinical case records and Family Support Plans; monitor participant records for completeness and compliance, including data input into Gandara’s EMR system and the UMASS system for FRC specifically; case records shall be reviewed on an annual basis, or any other frequency, by DCF/ASO; Provide culturally sensitive and informed training/educational information, as needed, on clinical topics to family members; Adhere to program and agency policies/procedures; notify Program Director immediately in the event of a crisis, suspected illegal activity, or any behavior constituting an incident in the program; Attend Clinical Team Meetings, program meetings, agency/department meetings and trainings to obtain CEUs in order to maintain professional licensure; may fill in for administrative team members at meetings, as needed;Minimum Qualifications:
MSW, M.Ed, MS or other Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field required Independent Clinical License of LCSW, LICSW or LMHC required Minimum three years’ experience as a licensed clinician required Certification and/or experience administering the Massachusetts Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessment required At least five years’ clinical mental health/human services experience preferred Experience and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in a community-setting using a family-centered, strength-based approach Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency requirements for driving history records and criminal background checks Must be available for weekend and evening hours Ability to structure and organize job responsibilities independently Exceptional demonstrated interpersonal and writing skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Corel; and related office technology Bilingual in Spanish/English, preferred
