Clinician – Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) | Western Psychiatric Hospital

The Clinician/Clinician Fellow role at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital in Oakland involves assisting in the clinical care and management of the Psychiatric Emergency Service (PES). This position requires working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. The PES is a busy psychiatric emergency room that sees over 13,000 patients annually and serves as a resource for psychiatric care and consultation across UPMC and the behavioral health network. The Clinician is a nurse leader responsible for achieving a culture of excellence in patient care, conducting employee evaluations, hiring staff, and managing daily performance. Additionally, the Clinician provides service-based education, orientation, training, and consultation on practice issues, and may deliver nursing care as needed. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to advance their careers while maintaining direct patient care and leading a clinical team.

Sign-On Bonus Eligibility Details 

$15,000 sign-on bonus available for Clinicians with over one (1) year of experience with a two-year work agreement!

Clinician Fellow level candidates will be considered for this role.  The title and pay rate (minimum rate for Clinician Fellow is $38.21) for these positions may vary depending on nursing education level and years of nursing/leadership experience.

Lead clinical practice improvements. Support staff during transitions. Engage in shared leadership. Take on responsibilities for quality improvement and staff onboarding. Conduct staff performance evaluations.
