CLINICIAN

The Clinician is responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical services offered to assigned clients and/or their families.  This includes providing clinical services and individual, group and family therapy within the assigned program guidelines and may include gathering information for referral, clinical assessment, the intake/admission process, utilization management, data entry/analysis and quality improvement activities.  May provide for child and family needs related to admission, treatment, family, community involvement, and discharge. May assist as needed with functions above for remote sites.  Provide training/supervision on clinical issues and information on clients as needed to other employees. Expected to protect and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters or higher degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or other related Human Services field. Maine licensed mental health practitioner (LCPC, LCPC Conditional, LCSW, LMSW Conditional (Clinical), or Licensed Psychologist) Two years experience preferred (with residential treatment, crisis intervention services, or other mental health programming serving children/adolescents with special behavioral health needs or other cognitive/emotional disabilities).
 

JOB DUTIES:

Treatment and Assessment: Perform Biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, family counseling, discharge planning, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy for each assigned client as indicated. May also be needed to make additional assessments determined necessary for educational and clinical purposes. Customer Service: Serve as liaison between clients, customers, parents, and other treatment team members to facilitate coordinated casework planning, therapy, and outcomes. Provide customers with any required clinical reviews or reports as necessary for each assigned client. Crisis Intervention: Order Restraints as necessary and contact local crisis intervention teams as needed. Information Sharing: Provide Biopsychosocial information, treatment plan updates, new developments in a child’s therapy and other pertinent information regarding assigned clients to treatment team members in a clear and understandable fashion. Leadership: Act as co-treatment team leader with the Treatment Team Supervisor and/or the public schools and KidsPeace personnel. If designated, meet regularly with KP education and public school personnel to develop programs for the child’s return to public school. Assist program management in developing and evaluating programs and services to maintain progressive and effective treatment. If designated, assist in developing and evaluating programs and services to provide quality programs for Day Treatment families and participating schools.
