OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center is seeking a clinician-educator to support the Internal Medicine residency program and provide exceptional patient care, and further the educational mission. This position is a full-time academic position in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine at OHSU School of Medicine.

 

Faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics participate actively in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and each other. Opportunities for teaching abound and participation is encouraged and valued. The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship, as directed by his or her department. Compensation for this position for the first full year is a guaranteed salary; in subsequent years the compensation will include a base salary plus an incentive based on the success and productivity of clinical work.

Function/Duties of Position

This position will include continuity ambulatory practice and potentially interim care for the practice. Clinical care duties will be the equivalent of 7 half days per week.  May include precepting residents in their own continuity clinics, approximately one-half day a week. Extended hours as per clinic needs Communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other clinicians in our practice is essential.

 

Duties of this position include

 

Serve as a Primary care clinician in the Faculty Practice with OHSU at Hillsboro Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinic (to include continuity care, as well as interim or same day care)  Participate in clinical based teaching of OHSU students and internal medicine residents.Potential for inpatient general medicine clinical work Required Qualifications MD degree (or equivalent)  ABIM certification (or eligibility)Fellowship training and a commitment to participating as a part of an interprofessional team    Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence Preferred Qualifications Academic rank is commensurate with experience All are welcome Oregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce.
