Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Superintendent, you will be part of the Environment & Sustainability Department. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of closure, biodiversity, and reclamation initiatives across all aspects of AEM’s Detour Lake facility. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures; Coordinate the preparation and update of a regulatory closure plan updates, aligned with corporate standards; Contribute to closure planning efforts that align with the life-of-mine strategy; Monitor active closure activities by reviewing, and monitoring data related to tailings, water, and land management; Maintain proper documentation related to regulatory, legal, permitting or compliance purposes through the use of spreadsheet, word processing and database software; Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on closure and reclamation projects. Tasks may include coordinating logistical aspects of site visits, working on reclamation and biodiversity projects, preparation of materials for meetings, and managing environmental data; Participate in meetings and technical discussions with external professionals responsible for delivery of closure, reclamation, and biodiversity related programs across the operation; Assist with identifying closure and reclamation opportunities and their integration into closure planning schedules; Prepare presentation materials and participate in AEM’s external engagement activities, including community meetings, agency site visits, projects consultations, and other communications related to closure and reclamation. *

Your Work Schedule\:

Schedule\: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days for transportation and rest or 4 days of work, followed by 3 days for transportation and rest then 5 days of work, followed by 2 days for transportation and rest; Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
