Working with the CMS Cloud Operations group the Cloud Architect is responsible for defining, developing and implementing next-generation cloud native architecture. 

The Cloud Architect will work directly with site reliability, operational and engineering teams guiding implementation, migration and on-going service improvement activities. There’s also opportunity to work in partnership with Trimble’s largest customers to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet their business needs. 

What You Will Do

We are seeking a talented Cloud Infrastructure Architect with extensive Azure experience to join our dynamic team. The opportunity exists across a diverse tech stack including Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Windows, .Net, SQL Server, Serverless. Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across these tech stacks are of high importance.

The Cloud Architect will have a creative and technical mindset that empowers CMS’ cloud use and adoption. 

Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place and tested regularly.

Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, cost, and security.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure services, features, and best practices.

Contribute to root cause analysis for Severity 1, Severity 2, and recurring incidents.

Participate and Contribute in all phases of SDLC.

Develop technical procedures and documentation.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

Expert cloud infrastructure knowledge with at least 5 years’ experience in large mission-critical environments

Desirable certification in relevant platform technologies. (AWS Solution Architect,  Azure Solutions Architect)

Aware of cloud technology, continuous delivery pipeline strategies, PaaS, IaaS and Container Services

Experience presenting to senior executives and capable of distilling complex technical discussion into succinct presentations that can influence the target audience and motivate to action

Documentation Skills

Proven problem solving skills

Efficient performance and tuning skills

Systems analysis and design, understanding of business, excellent communication skills, ability to break things down into terms understandable to non-technical individuals.

Industry expert level platform design and administration skills (able to teach others)

Outstanding written and verbal communications with the ability to take complex technical detail and articulate it effectively to

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
