We are seeking an experienced and innovative Cloud Architect to become a member of our award-winning Technology team as we embark on our transformation journey towards building modern capabilities and becoming a service-oriented organisation. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing cloud platforms, services, and solutions that empower our customers and align with business objectives.  

You will collaborate closely with Service Owners to define excellence in cloud-based services and standards, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and fit for purpose. Your responsibilities will include:

Cloud Strategy & Roadmap Development: Define and maintain a comprehensive cloud strategy that balances customer needs with business goals, translating this vision into an actionable roadmap for execution.Architecture & Solution Design: Architect cloud platforms, services, and solutions that are fit for purpose, scalable, and optimized to meet both current and future demands.Customer Enablement: Ensure cloud offerings are self-enabling for customers, providing intuitive tools, documentation, and processes that empower seamless adoption and usage.Guardrails & Controls: Establish and enforce appropriate security, financial, compliance, and governance guardrails to protect data, applications, cost and infrastructure while maintaining flexibility for innovation.Automation Leadership: Drive heavy automation across cloud environments, streamlining deployment, management, and monitoring processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational overhead.Collaboration with Service Owners: Partner with Service Owners to define and establish benchmarks for high-quality cloud services, providing guidance on best practices, architecture patterns, and performance standards.Standards Development: Partner with engineers and Service Owners to create, refine, and improve standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), code quality, blueprints, and reusable templates, ensuring consistency, reliability, and efficiency across cloud implementations.Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on cloud technologies, trends, and emerging capabilities to inform decision-making and innovation.Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate cloud performance, cost, and reliability, recommending optimizations and enhancements to ensure long-term success.

About you:

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, a customer-centric mindset, and a passion for driving automation and scalability. You will be a strong communicator with the capability of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance. In addition to this you will also have:

A strong background in cloud architecture, engineering, or related roles, with a proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions.Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.Ability to craft and articulate a long-term cloud vision, aligning technical solutions with business and customer priorities.Familiarity with implementing guardrails, controls, and best practices for cloud security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
