SUMMARY

The Cloud Automation Engineer role is part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), and is responsible for delivering cloud solutions to the application teams (internal customers), based on customer requirements. A cloud automation engineer is responsible for the implementation of scalable, available and secure architecture solutions, based on architectural standards, availability of services, cost, network, security, storage and governance considerations. 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the development of requirements and manages engagement to automate onboarding Cloud services through a service catalogue  Familiar with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment  Assist senior colleagues with continuous delivery systems and methodologies on public cloud providers  Assists in implementation of software development life cycle to deliver Cloud solutions  Assists in the development of automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes  Delivers automation of security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation  Manages, and maintains tools to automate operational processes  Assists in implementation of solutions based on architectural best practices and stablished architectural frameworks, with guidance from a senior member of CCoE  Assists with design and implementation of available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, and systems, with help from senior member of CCoE team  Assists with implementation of cloud architecture solutions, based on defined standards for CCoE - from an application and infrastructure perspective  Assists with delivery of simple cloud architecture patterns and implementations based on customer requirements  Assist with implementation of lift and shift of existing on-premises application to public clouds  Assists with the analysis of the application portfolios and migration feasibility  Assist with integration of cloud infrastructure/network environment with corporate infrastructure / on-prem environment  Assist with design of reference architecture for implementation of codified stacks that meet the needs of the applications  Educates team to implement based on best practices  Provides hands-on technical support to accelerate cloud learning among peers 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Deep knowledge of cloud automation practices (in one or more in the following modular areas -  Auto-scale infrastructure provisioning, automated infrastructure testing, automated monitoring)  Knowledge of automation services like - Lambda, API Gateway, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline  Familiar with / basic understanding of working in an Agile/Scrum  Familiar with / basic knowledge of cloud computing technologies  Familiar with public cloud design principles, architectural best practices, and industry standards  Prior programming background in at least one language: C++, Java, Python, Ruby etc.  Familiar with / basic knowledge of building IaaS and PaaS solutions  Knowledge of technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization  Familiarity with / knowledge of cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges  Familiarity with one or more IaaS platforms like OCI, AWS, GCP, etc.  Familiar with software development life cycle (SDLC)
