Cloud Database Administrator

The Cloud Database Administrator will manage AWS, Linux, Windows, and databases like Oracle, MSSQL Server, and RDS Aurora PostgreSQL. You'll own the production lifecycle—maintenance, automation, releases, and scaling the ARCOS platform—while ensuring 24/7 uptime.
You should be skilled in AWS, Oracle DB, GoldenGate, DataGuard, MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, and SaaS operations, with strong Linux and Windows admin chops.
JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Manage databases in Linux and Windows environments, including maintenance, optimization, upgrades, backups, and data migration/replication.
+ Design, develop, and maintain data using Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL Server, SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting.
+ Upgrade systems to enhance functionality and resolve security issues.
+ Lead projects to improve high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
+ Collaborate in Agile practices like backlog grooming, release planning, and automated deployments.
+ Develop scalable solutions for large data sets and participate in code reviews.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and meet project goals.
+ Plan and implement future database needs and changes.
+ Manage AWS infrastructure, including RDS, EC2, security, and monitoring services.
+ Analyze logs using Splunk and report on project progress.
+ Configure and manage production cloud infrastructure.
+ Automate maintenance tasks and deployments.
+ Troubleshoot complex issues across application and infrastructure layers.
+ Implement monitoring to quickly identify and address system issues.
+ Participate in 24x7 on-call duties to maintain system performance and availability.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience/training.
+ 5+ years of Oracle database administration, preferably in high-traffic, 24x7 SaaS environments.
+ 3+ years of experience with Oracle GoldenGate, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
+ Strong Linux systems administration and database performance tuning skills.
+ AWS expertise, including migrations, deployments, automation, and management of major services (e.g., networking, compute, storage, RDS).
+ Proficiency in Oracle DB, GoldenGate, DataGuard, MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, Jira, and Confluence.
+ Advanced understanding of system vulnerabilities, security, and networking concepts.
+ Experience with scripting (bash, ksh, PowerShell, PL/SQL) and automation tools.
+ Proven ability to manage mission-critical, highly available technologies and meet deadlines.
+ Familiarity with SaaS operations, cloud infrastructure, and cost management.
+ Motivated self-starter with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
+ International data set experience is a plus.
+ Excellent communication skills and 24x7 on-call availability required.
This position is required to be located in Mexico.
