Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.

 

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join their growing team! As a Cloud Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure while ensuring secure and efficient system operations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance mission success.

Support data collection from a complex server and network infrastructure and user baseDesign and define system architecture for new or existing computer systemsApply problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issuesArchitect, build, and maintain Hadoop and other cloud infrastructuresPerform routine equipment checks, preventative maintenance, and system hardening to DoD standardsDevelop dashboards, reports, rules, and other content for infrastructure monitoring and security initiativesCoordinate with security analysts, network engineers, and C&A teams to meet security requirementsAutomate tasks using shell and Perl scriptingCollaborate with software and hardware vendors to ensure system reliabilityMaintain up-to-date documentation of system designs and configurationsProvide guidance to security and network engineering teamsMonitor and improve Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) processes

Requirements

5+ years of systems engineering experience, including Solaris, Unix, or Windows serversExperience with public clouds (AWS, Google, Rackspace) and private clouds (VMWare, OpenStack)Knowledge of IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS cloud technologiesExperience with hypervisors such as VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer, and Microsoft Hyper-VFamiliarity with Hadoop, network technologies (MPLS, routing protocols), and infrastructure components (IPAM, DNS, DHCP)Strong time management skills and ability to work independentlyExcellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative team-oriented approachAbility to create automation scripts in shell or Perl

Education/Certification Requirements

Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of experience or an equivalent years of education and years of experience

Preferred Requirements

Professional certification in relevant technologies is preferred

Clearance Requirements

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required.
