The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Cloud Engineering expert to support our customer, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), in Omaha Nebraska This position is contingent upon award of the STRATCOM Information Technology and Lifecycle Services (SCITLS) program. A successful candidate is highly skilled technical professional with in-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms including AWS and/or Azure, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud-based solutions, providing expert guidance on best practices, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance and security within a cloud environment; essentially acting as the go-to person for all cloud-related technical decisions and challenges within an organization.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture Design: Architecting and designing robust cloud infrastructure based on business requirements, including network topology, storage solutions, compute capacity, and security configurations.
Cloud Migration Strategy: Leading the planning and execution of application and data migration to the cloud, optimizing for performance and cost efficiency.
Cloud Automation: Developing and implementing automation scripts to streamline cloud provisioning, deployment, scaling, and management tasks.
Performance Optimization: Monitoring cloud performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies to ensure high availability and scalability.
Security Best Practices: Implementing robust security measures on cloud environments, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
Cost Management: Analyzing cloud usage patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing cloud spend.
Technical Expertise: Staying updated on the latest cloud technologies, features, and best practices from leading cloud providers.
Mentorship and Training: Providing technical guidance and training to other cloud engineers within the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
A current TS clearance with SCI eligibility
BS of Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
A minimum of seven years’ experience within the last 10 years, engineering complex IT systems.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms: Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or Azure) including their services, APIs, and best practices.
Programming and scripting skills: Proficiency in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and infrastructure management.
Networking knowledge: Solid understanding of network concepts like subnetting, routing, and firewalls.
Security expertise: Knowledge of DoD cloud security principles, compliance requirements, and security best practices.
System administration experience: Background in managing servers, operating systems, and databases.
Strong problem-solving skills: Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
Communication and collaboration skills: Effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
