Cloud Engineer III
Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovative solutions? Join our team as a Cloud Engineer III! You will be responsible for engineering and operating a next-generation hybrid multi-cloud environment that integrates both on-premises and cloud resources. This role includes Tier III platform support and managing the change control process. You will collaborate closely with Network, Cyber Security, Architects, and other teams to design services that meet SNC's needs, ensuring they adhere to SLA, security, and compliance requirements. Your responsibilities will include evaluating the interface between cloud environments and operational requirements, establishing and documenting system parameters and formats, and ensuring compatibility between on-prem and cloud systems. Additionally, you will coordinate or modify cloud parameters, revise existing cloud environments, and test their functionality. You will address deficiencies to enhance data handling, integrity, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.

As a Cloud Engineer supporting both Azure and AWS, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructures. You will develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools CloudFormation, and ARM templates, and automate deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines. Ensuring robust security controls, managing identity and access management (IAM), and maintaining compliance with industry standards will be critical. You will monitor cloud usage and costs, providing recommendations for optimization, and offer technical support to troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues. In addition, you will plan and execute cloud migration projects and integrate cloud services with on-premises systems. Keeping comprehensive documentation, providing training to internal teams, and implementing performance monitoring solutions are essential tasks. Staying updated with emerging technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver effective cloud solutions will be vital for continuous improvement and success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud environments.Deployment and Automation: Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines.Security and Compliance: Implement security controls, manage IAM, and ensure NIST compliance with industry standards.Cost Management: Monitor cloud usage and spending and provide recommendations for cost optimization.Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for cloud-related issues and collaborate with teams to ensure system reliability.Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and test backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.Migration and Integration: Plan and execute cloud migration projects and integrate cloud services with on-premises systems.Documentation and Training: Maintain documentation of cloud configurations and processes and provide training to internal teams.Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring solutions and optimize cloud infrastructure for better performance.Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements for cloud operations.Collaboration and Communication: Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver effective cloud solutions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 6 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceRelevant experience may be considered in lieu of required educationRelevant experience includes implementing and supporting AWS and Azure Cloud Operations, implementing and supporting VMware or Nutanix, designing and implementing cloud solutions using IAAS and PAAS, and experience  with IT Operations Monitoring Tools (PRTG, VROperations, Solarwinds, etc.)Ability to Trouble shoot Network connectivity between Server InfrastructureUnderstanding of Azure Entra and Active Directory Federation ServicesAbility to configure and manage Windows and Linux serversCertifications: AWS Cloud Foundations or Azure Fundamentals

Qualifications We Prefer:

Knowledge of virtual firewalls, VPN tunnels, and cloud networking

Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g. Azure AKS)

Experience in migrating standalone infrastructure to AWS and Azure

Ability to work closely with DevOps, SysOps, NetOps and Application teams

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of an organization

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

At least one of the following Certifications:
        o Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
        o Microsoft Certified: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
        o Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Specialist 
        o AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
        o AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
        o AWS Certified Developer – Associate
