This position serves our partners at the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The MNIT DPS team provides technical support to an agency dedicated to prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, enforcement, and education. The team manages a large number of applications to serve 15 diverse public safety divisions located across Minnesota.
As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS), you will be expected to use your advanced experience transitioning organizations to cloud infrastructure and technologies. This pivotal role involves collaborating with stakeholders to contribute to the roadmap and implementation of the required infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC) practices. You will define policies and guidelines for optimal cloud usage while bringing expertise in the execution of cloud migration, implementation, and maintenance of IaC within the organization.
**This position requires an employee to be onsite at the work location 1 day per week.**

Position requires a minimum of experience designing and supporting public cloud environments.
Experience must include:
+ Supporting Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and GCP
+ Write Infrastructure as code (IaC) and manage via Git, Azure DevOps, etc
+ Reviewing applications and business requirements to determine preferred cloud technologies
+ Reviewing usage and cost details and recommending cost saving opportunities
+ Experience migrating from on prem to cloud or between cloud providers
+ Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
+ Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience configuring and maintaining serverless apps using Docker and Kubernetes
+ Administrating and understanding cloud based IAM
+ Designing and maintaining cloud based load balancers
+ Documenting Cloud environments
+ Ability to explain to IT and business leadership the benefits of cloud native technologies
+ Mentoring and coaching team members and cross team members on cloud technologies
+ Cloud based IT certification(s)
